VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Maple Initiative:

Glimpse After School Program – is an after school program committed to journeying with elementary students through purposeful relationships and creative hands-on learning. We invite volunteers to come join us in this unique transformation process as together we step into who God has created each one of us to be. 

Who:      Students entering K–6th grade

When:     Mon–Fri, 3:00–5:00p (volunteers arrive by 2:30p)

Needs:    Tutors, workshop leads, and those with a heart to disciple

 

Maple Teen Center – is a space for neighborhood teens to grow in leadership and character, to receive help with their homework, and build community with their peers. Mentoring takes place in the context of relationship as volunteers and students interact around schoolwork, common interests, and being present together. 

Who:      7th–12th grade students

When:     Mon–Fri, 4:00–6:00p (volunteers arrive by 3:30p)

Needs:    Mentors, homework tutors, activity leads, and workshop leads

 

Garnet Initiative:

Garnet After School Program – aims to connect volunteers with elementary school students through homework help, small group tutoring, recreational activities, and mentoring. The purpose of all these activities is to form deep, transformational relationships and to empower the volunteers, students, and their families to live the lives that God intended for them.

Who:      1st–6th grade students

When:      Mon–Fri, 3:00–5:00p (volunteers arrive by 2:30p)

Needs:    Tutors, activity leaders, and bible curriculum leaders

 

Garnet Extension Hour – is designed to give small group or one-on-one attention to students in Garnet’s ASP while allowing volunteers the space to run academic based workshops, build mentoring relationships, and offer additional tutoring for students. This is a great opportunity to empower the students in their educational abilities while having fun! 

Who:      1st–6th grade students

When:    Mon, 5:30–6:30p (volunteers arrive by 5:00p)

Needs:     Tutors and workshop leads

 

Garnet Teen Center – invites you to join in with what God is doing in Garnet by building relationships with our teens. At Teen Center you will take part in tutoring students as well as spending time to hangout and play games. On Fridays we have a variety of fun activities, games, and field trips. The purpose of all these activities is to facilitate transformational relationships, and to empower the volunteers and students to live the lives that God intended for them. Additionally, as volunteer staff, you may also take the opportunity to share your passions through a workshop.

Who:      7th–12th grade students    

When:     Mon, 4:00–5:00; Tues–Thu, 4:00–6:00p (volunteers arrive by 3:30p); Fri, times vary

Needs:     Tutors, activity leaders, workshop leaders, mentors, and Friday drivers
